Join us at Portland’s Peninsula Park to celebrate the release of the first issue of Mangrove Magazine! This magazine was created to gather and celebrate QTBIPOC artists and organizers and cultivate the seeds for an abolitionist future. We’re excited to keep dreaming, growing, and creating with you 🌿
We’ll have some snacks, drinks, and copies of the magazine to share ⭐️ Please bring a mask to wear while not eating/ drinking!

Join us in the 22nd of May for a workshop on making lino cut block prints, learning about wheatpasting, and a brief review of what propaganda is and how movements have used it to further their cause.

BIPOC Abolitionist Convergence

- Intention setting: co-creating community agreements.
- Speed meet: getting to know each other one on one.
- Teach in #1: About cop cities on the West Coast.
- General assembly: Discussing deep organizing.
- Benefit show with local DJs.
November 17th: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Open social time and food.
- Intention setting.
- Teach in #2: Conflict styles, mediation, & resolution in movement spaces.
- General assembly: Actualizing a network of support.

BIPOC Art Night will be held at Sabin CDC on October 11th 6-7:30PM.
We’ll be acknowledging our collective rage with art and collage.

Abolitionist Skill Share Series
We’re shifting our Community Gatherings into seasonal Abolitionist Skill Shares! From Oct 2 - Nov 7, we'll have five free workshops related to emergency preparedness in collaboration with Mosquito Fleet PNW. We folks to connect with each other during our workshops and to pass lessons along to their Affinity Groups and trusted circles.

All skill shares will be hosted at 4212 NE Prescott St. from 6-8pm. As always, masks will be required.
Healing Affinity to Action Cohort
The Healing Affinity to Action Cohort is a closed, free cohort for people looking to deepen organizing skills surrounding navigating collective trauma through somatic practice, relationship building, and direct action tactics.
This cohort will be made up of two groups: one BIPOC (cap: 15) and one white (cap: 10).
Info + Structure:
3 meetings per month for 2 months
2 hr long sessions, indoor + outdoor, masks required at all
participants must be able to communicate regularly through email

Introduction + relationship-building
Healing justice practices with the self
Healing justice practices with the community
Strategic action frameworks
Structures, logistics, and safety
Celebration + feedback
Who we are looking for:
people who already understand PIC/MIC abolition & Black liberation frameworks
folks looking for deeper organizing spaces that emphasize relational power
people who are dedicated to community organizing already
folks looking to connect with other values-aligned abolitionists + accomplices
people who desire space to practice methods for individual + collective healing
folks who want to learn how to work through trauma responses in the body
